Role

I led the end-to-end UX revamp of the “runner” workflows in oneMDM — a SaaS-based Master Data Management platform. I was responsible for designing improved task flows, form interactions, and decision-making clarity across the Create, Update, and Approve record stages. I collaborated with product managers, developers, and enterprise clients to ensure that the interface aligned with real-world data processes and could scale across complex use cases.

Challenges

The platform was starting to show signs of friction for users managing everyday data tasks. Teams responsible for creating, updating, and approving records were running into common roadblocks: long, scroll-heavy forms, unclear field structure, and a lack of feedback on progress or accuracy. These issues slowed down submissions and often led to confusion, especially when multiple roles were involved.

The broader challenge was to streamline how different users interacted with complex data workflows without compromising clarity or control. The goal was to make the experience less overwhelming, more efficient, and better aligned with how real teams work in high-volume, data-sensitive environments.

some of the issues:

High drop-offs during data entry tasks
Users often abandoned forms due to overwhelming layouts and dense data entry requirements, making task completion time-consuming and frustrating.

Difficulty navigating long multi-section forms
In workflows with multiple sub-sections, users struggled to locate and complete all required sections efficiently, often missing key data fields.

Lack of prioritization in frequently used forms
Users couldn't easily identify or access the most commonly used forms, causing delays and reducing task efficiency across high-traffic workflows.

No visibility into change history or task journey
Users had no way to track who made updates or when, creating friction when resolving errors or reviewing task status with collaborators.

Unclear data accuracy scores and field-level quality indicators
Accuracy scores were confusing or missing altogether, leaving approvers uncertain about data reliability and increasing rejections.

Cognitive overload due to visually similar form types
Without distinct visual cues, users had difficulty distinguishing between create, update, and approve workflows leading to mistakes and slower processing.

Solutions

To solve the fragmented and overwhelming experience faced by runners across dashboards, task flows, and approval processes, I designed a unified, role-adaptive interface tailored to creators, updaters, and approvers. The goal was to reduce cognitive load, enhance task clarity, and streamline navigation across complex, multi-section forms. Key interaction points like data accuracy scores, change logs, contextual comments, and task timelines were reimagined to give users clear direction, purpose, and visibility into their progress at every step.

Dashboard (Runner Home)

In traditional MDM systems, dashboards often overwhelm users with dense data tables and scattered navigation. I reimagined the dashboard as a role-sensitive control center, surfacing the right solutions, tasks, and quick actions depending on whether the user is a Creator, Updater, or Approver. The new design helps runners quickly orient themselves, prioritize urgent work, and seamlessly switch environments all without losing context. This approach transforms the dashboard from a static page into a dynamic workspace that scales as enterprise data grows.

Create User Inbox Page

In the Create user experience, I focused on reducing friction during data entry across high-volume forms. I consolidated solution listings and created clear entry points for different record types, minimizing navigation steps. Section-based layouts help users tackle large forms in manageable chunks, while clear actions like “Save Draft” and “Submit” support data safety and task continuity. The design prioritizes clarity, efficiency, and lower cognitive load, enabling creators to handle complex data tasks with confidence.

Approver User Inbox Page

Approvers manage critical data decisions under tight timelines. My redesign ensures they can instantly evaluate data integrity and track changes without ambiguity. Task cards surface essential details upfront, while the form view uses consistent visual cues and icons to flag issues requiring attention. Integrated data accuracy scores and section-level metrics help prioritize focus, ensuring efficient reviews. Purpose-built modals for approval or rejection capture context and rationale, reducing miscommunication and maintaining a robust audit trail across teams.

Update User Inbox Page

Update users manage critical corrections and need precise context to work efficiently. I redesigned the Update screen to embed task history directly alongside the form, eliminating the need to switch views. A persistent timeline shows exactly who changed which fields and when, while visual markers flag only the fields requiring updates. This focused approach minimizes time spent searching for issues and supports faster, more confident data corrections.
